Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you book a trip with Intercoutra.

1. Bookings

A booking made through our website, WhatsApp, or by phone holds a seat for a limited time (shown at the time of booking) while payment is arranged. A booking is only confirmed once payment has been received and acknowledged by Intercoutra. Unpaid holds may be released to other passengers once the hold period expires.

2. Fares

Fares are quoted per seat, per direction, and are subject to change without notice for future bookings (already-confirmed bookings keep their original fare). Return bookings are priced as two linked one-way legs; both legs must be used on the routes and dates booked.

3. Cancellations

You may cancel a booking yourself using the Manage Booking page, or by contacting us directly.

4. Changes to a Booking

Rescheduling to a different date or time is handled directly with our team over WhatsApp, and is subject to seat availability on the new departure. We'll always confirm any change with you before it's finalized.

5. Luggage

Please declare your luggage accurately when booking. Additional or larger luggage than declared may require a trailer, an alternative vehicle, or an additional charge, and may not always be accommodated on short notice. Intercoutra is not liable for loss or damage to luggage beyond what is required by law.

6. Travel Documents

Cross-border routes require a valid passport for all passengers, including South African citizens - a South African ID book or smart ID card is not sufficient for entry into Eswatini. It is the passenger's responsibility to carry valid travel documents; Intercoutra is not responsible for a passenger being denied border crossing due to missing or invalid documentation, and no refund applies in that case.

7. Delays

We aim to run all departures on schedule. However, border delays, weather, traffic, and mechanical issues are sometimes outside our control. Intercoutra is not liable for losses arising from delays beyond our reasonable control, though we will always communicate known delays as early as possible.

8. Conduct

Drivers may refuse to carry, or may end the journey of, any passenger who is a safety risk to themselves, other passengers, or the driver. No refund applies where a journey is ended for this reason.

9. Your Information

Booking with us means agreeing to our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect and how it's used, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
